Skegness Christmas Carnival Parade

  • Hildred's shopping centre (map)

Have we got some amazing news for you about Christmas 2017? – Yes we have!
This year the Christmas Switch On and Carnival Parade will be on Thursday 30th November. Entertainment will start from 5pm outside the Hildreds on the main stage by the Christmas Tree and continue throughout the night. The parade will leave Briar Way, travel up High Street and down Lumley Rd from 6.15pm. The parade will be led by Santa in his sleigh and Rob Hammond Breakfast Presenter from Lincs FM. The parade will be bigger and better than ever this year including costume characters, stilt walkers and illuminated Christmas acts. The Embassy Panto stars will also be present and will be launching Panto season in Skegness on the same night. The Christmas lights, Tree and Hildreds displays will be switched on at 7pm by Santa, Rob Hammond, The Panto cast from Aladdin and The Mayor of Skegness Cllr Danny Brookes. Once the lights have been switched on, the entire square outside the Hildreds will be covered in snow, so bring your brolly! Aladdin’s Cave of Wonders Christmas Grotto will also open on the same night too from 7pm but you will have to book for that. This year we have a new booking system. Log onto for further details and to book your tickets to see Santa.

Last year you all loved our singing reindeer “Zachariah” well this year he has brought a friend with him – “Harry” 2 reindeers – twice the fun. What will they be singing? Well one thing is for sure once you have seen them, you will be singing it too.

The further you walk into the Hildreds you will meet other characters too like our new friends The Hildreds Eskimo’s, Eric, Ernie and Enrie.  See if you can spot Hettie the Yeti too.

Don’t forget, you can post your letter to Santa and receive a free reply within 24 hours, pick up a colouring competition form for a chance to win some early Christmas presents and pick up a free Santa report card when you book to see Santa in the grotto.  *Did you know, all of the money raised in the Hildreds Grotto is donated back to The Skegness Carnival which will be used to put on next year’s parade and week long entertainment!…..So if you plan on seeing Santa this year, you will also be helping the Skegness Carnival to continue with their great work.
