The Book Festival is back!

Newark Book Festival is delighted to announce it has successfully been awarded Arts Council of England funding for 2019. 

Headed by a weekend of literature and art from Friday 12th-Sunday 14th July, Newark Book Festival will once again be celebrating and showcasing the world of books through an exciting, engaging programme from author events to panels, crime fiction, contemporary, literary fiction and a children and family programme. 

In 2019, the festival will be exploring the theme of Home and Away – from travel, Around the World in 80 Books to a celebration of all things home and Nottinghamshire.Full details of the programme will be revealed in theSpring. 

Newark Book Festival has received great support and continues to grow each year, thanks to all our wonderful Friends, venues and funders. Sponsors already lined up for 2019, include: Children & Young People Programme Sponsor - Tallents Solicitors, Book Sponsor – Aura Business Centre and Event Sponsors, Duncan & Toplis, Karrot Entertainment and Creative Apostrophe. 

To sustain itself and keep growing, the festival needs as much support as possible and there are more sponsorship opportunities available, with packages starting from £100.

The Festival is also running its Friend’s Scheme again this year. People can get involved by becoming a friend, which allows them to make donations and offers them festival perks, such as early bird tickets and invites to exclusive events. Friends packages start at £15 forindividuals and £25 for couples. 

Sara Bullimore, Artistic Director said ‘We are delighted to be working with a host of beautiful venues across the town again for 2019 and look forward to welcoming on board St Mary Magdalene Church as a new venue. With thanks to all our funders and supporters so far, we are really excited to begin work on programming the 2019 Festival, centred around our theme of Home and Away we have many exciting ideas in mind to inspire and delight our audiences and communities. We are also pleased to announce that we will be launching our first schools programme for 2019 – so watch this space!’
