Summer is here and there’s lots on offer at North Kesteven District Council’s exciting visitor
attractions. These venues are free to visit all year round and offers something for all ages which
makes a great day out (or two) for all the family!

Not only does Cranwell Aviation Heritage Museum tell the fascinating story of historic RAF
Cranwell, it also has interactive exhibits including a flight simulator which challenges you to land a
Jet Provost on the runway before your fuel runs out! To coincide with RAF100, our exhibition
Gallantry in the Air gives visitors the chance to discover the heroic figures who were decorated for their bravery during World War II. Many of the airmen featured in this exhibition gained the highest award for their valour, with some of them paying the ultimate price.

Cogglesford Watermill is one of the few working watermills in the country and has regular milling
days on the second Sunday of the month. Here you can find out about the history of the mill and
have a go at grinding flour from grain using our hand turned quern stones. A short stroll along the
River Slea brings you to Navigation House, once the company office for the Sleaford Navigation
Company. The River Slea was once a bustling, busy place, carrying laden barges into the heart of
Sleaford. At Navigation House, the loads were weighed so that charges could be made before being carried off to their various destinations.
