Families with children aged 8+ shouldn’t miss the incredible Private Peaceful on Monday 15th & Tuesday 16th October. Honouring the 100th anniversary of the end of World War One, this production comes straight from the West End and is adapted from by third Children’s Laureate Michael Morpurgo’s Blue Peter Book of the Year. The story follows Private Tommo Peaceful, a young soldier awaiting the firing squad at dawn, as he looks back at his short but joyful past growing up in rural Devon: his exciting first days at school; the accident in the forest that killed his father; his adventures with Molly, the love of his life; and the battles and injustices of war that brought him to the front line.

Bringing the page to the stage again in October is Tabby McTat on Monday 29th. Suitable for children and families of all ages, this adorable tale is adapted from Gruffalo team Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s much-loved story about a a cat with the loudest of meee-ews and a best friend with a guitar. Together they sing their favourite songs, delighting the crowds, until one day Fred disappears. Tabby finds shelter and a new life with all the home comforts that any cat could dream of but misses his long-lost friend and sets off to search the streets. Interwoven with original songs, Tabby McTat is a heart-warming tale of friendship and loyalty not to be missed.

Then, in December, take a magic carpet ride to the Palace Theatre for this year’s spectacular pantomime, Aladdin!
