Christmas in Wonderland at Doddington Hall!
Imaginatively decorated for this year’s theme ‘Christmas in Wonderland’, Doddington Hall will be open especially for the festive period. Inspired by Alice in Wonderland, the Hall will be creatively transformed with displays filled with Christmas adventure and wonder.
It’s an opportunity to soak up the festive atmosphere in a treasured family home, which has seen a lot of Christmas mornings over its 400 year plus history. A chance to see what the present day family and staff have created and to think about how Christmas may have looked and felt through the centuries.
This year, as in previous years, the displays will have been created by a team which includes Claire Birch, who runs the Doddington Estate with
her husband James, several staff members, resident cutting gardener florist Rachel Petheram of Catkin Flowers and lighting and production designer Howell Thomas with students from Lincoln College.
Elsewhere on the Doddington Estate, there is plenty of magical atmospheric shopping to be enjoyed including the colourful Bauble Barn and freshly-cut homegrown trees in the pretty Stable Yard. Doddington at Home and Country Clothing are both full of inspirational gift ideas and the Farm Shop has plenty of seasonal produce and gift ideas for both under the tree and on the table.
Doddington Hall will be open to visitors every Wednesday – Friday 2-6pm, Saturday and Sunday 10am-4pm between Saturday 25 November - Friday 22 December plus Thurs 28 and Fri 29, 10am- 4pm. Admission, Adult £9, Child £4.50 (under 3yrs free). Shops and Cafes open daily.
