Lincoln attracts a wealth of visitors over the Christmas season – including some special four-legged friends! Thursday, November 23 will see the return of the stars of the Lincoln BIG
Reindeer Parade, who are travelling from Cairngorms to bring extra festive excitement to the city.
Families can meet the reindeer at St Marks Shopping Centre, between 2pm and 4pm, where they will be “resting-up” before their most important job of the day – leading the Lincoln BIG Reindeer Parade, which kicks off at 6pm. The reindeer, who will be teaming-up with Santa Claus and his sleigh, will then proudly process up the High Street, diverting through The Cornhill – past Lincoln’s newest festive attraction Thor’s Tipi Bar – through the newly-developed Cornhill Quarter, down Sincil Street to City Square.
When they arrive families will be able to meet the reindeer again and take plenty of photographs with Santa Claus and the deer. “Lincoln BIG events and promotions manager Michael Armstrong said: “We are looking forward to the return of the reindeer who are always highly popular with local families and visitors.
“This year, our Reindeer Parade is taking a little diversion and the animals will be
processing past Thor’s Tipi Bar in The Cornhill, which is another seasonal first for
Lincoln – but we will be making sure they are not distracted by the opportunity to
poke their noses in the tipis in search of a local craft beer or a hot chocolatey
People traveling into the city for the parade can also make the most of a great opportunity enjoy a spot of late night shopping. There are plenty of parking options – including FREE parking at St Mark’s Car Park for the evening. Shops will also stay open until 8pm.
