It truly is a magical time of year and a visit to Lincoln Performing Arts Centre

This year they are presenting two stunning Christmas Shows; one for the whole family and the other for younger audiences.

The main house family show is a wonderful musical play The Adventures of Robin Hood and Maid Marian (Mon 11-Sun 24 December).  It is winter in Sherwood and snow covers the greenwood. England is in trouble and the Sheriff is up to mischief! The people need a hero but who will step forward and fight for them? Enter the enchanting and brave Maid Marian who is searching for the mythical hero Robin Hood and finds herself caught up in an epic adventure!

This refreshing alternative to the usual pantomime offers a unique immersive experience where the auditorium has been transformed into a space with audiences on three sides, which puts the children and their families at the heart of the action.

This year the venue is also working hard to make the show more accessible. We spoke to Box Office Coordinator Phoebe about the extras on offer: “I’m thrilled that we are including a ‘relaxed performance’ on 22 December. This means the show will feel more, well, relaxed! Audience will be free come in and out, meet the characters or tour the set beforehand so that the experience isn’t too overwhelming. We are also offering a captioning service for the whole run!” If you have any questions about access you can contact Phoebe at the Box Office on 01522 837600.

Part of this commitment to bring more festive theatre to more people includes the return of a studio Christmas Show for ages three plus. Following the success of last year’s Brrr! The Lost Polar Bear, we join Anja and her friend Karl on another snowy adventure inThe Winter Whale (Fri 15-Sun 31 December).

We spoke to Director Craig Morrow: “This year we’re being more ambitious with more songs, more silliness and new elements such as puppetry. I’m also particularly excited about trying to work out how on earth we’re going to squeeze a 50 foot whale into our small studio!” We can’t wait to see what Anja and Karl get up to this time!

You can book online via www.lpac.co.uk, over the phone on 01522 837600 or in person at the box office in Zing Café Bar within Lincoln Performing Arts Centre.
