Lincoln’s Bombinos selected for Team England Junior Roller Derby team!

Five members to compete in England team during international game in Peterborough

On 25 November 2017, five teenagers from Lincoln’s Bombinos junior roller derby team will be competing as ‘England Juniors’ for the first time in Peterborough. The event will also feature the England Women’s and Men’s squads taking on their French counterparts.

The Bombinos team was set up around 6 years ago when the adult team, the Bombers, found that children were becoming interested in learning to play roller derby. The team currently sees 25 boys and girls aged 10-17 regularly training on a Saturday morning at Yarborough leisure centre in Lincoln and are coached by 4 skaters from the adult team.

Coach Violet Impact said “We’re so pleased and proud that some of our Bombinos are playing alongside the best roller derby players in the country. They’ve worked extremely hard, some of them have even been training for over 5 years and it’s great to see their hard work and dedication paying off. It will be fantastic to see the roller derby stars of tomorrow featured in an international event! We hope everyone back home in Lincolnshire will be cheering for Lady MacDeath (Eve), Deady Bear (Madison), Skye Rocket (Skye), ReBell (Rachel) and Red Devil (Becky).”

Tickets are still available for the event that is taking place at Bushfield Leisure Centre in Peterborough from https://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/3076413
