Summer of Sport at Clumber Park

Why not challenge friends and family to a shoot out on the archery range, or bring everyone together for a big volleyball, football or rounders match? Tennis, hockey, table tennis, cricket, skipping, games and much more on offer. Local sports providers will be making special guest appearances throughout the summer to give live demonstrations and have a go sessions from Monday 20 August to Wednesday 5 September. Please note: there will always be plenty of free activities, however some activities do incur a small charge. This event is free, but normal admission charges apply for the venue. Meeting point: on the front field, just next to the main visitor facilities. 11am to 4pm daily.                            


Bricks and Bones 2018 FREE Heritage Arts 'Drop In' Session

Come and enjoy some heritage arts taster activities in Lincoln on Tuesday 21 August from 11am to 2pm. There will be an opportunity to make a non ceramic mosaic, work with medieval manuscript inspired acrylics or emulate historical architecture using mixed media and collage. Try one, two or all three. Drop by and Take Part in Art! All equipment is provided and no previous experience is needed. Tea and coffee will also be provided. This event is FREE and open to all ages. Community Learning - Family Wizarding Workshop!

Come along to a free fun day workshop for mums, dads and carers to learn together with their children on Wednesday 22 August from 10am to 2:30pm at Southwell Library, Southwell. The day will include making family shield, wizard hats, wands and much more. Please note children must be accompanied and supervised at all times by an adult aged 19 years +. There will be a 30 minute lunch break, please bring a packed lunch.  Please book to avoid disappointment.  Due to size of room places limited to 2 children per 1 adult. Victorian Summer at the Museum of Lincolnshire Life

Come along to The Museum of Lincolnshire Life on Thursday 23 August for some family fun. Discover History will be performing 'Wish You Where Here', so come along and find out more about the Victorian tradition of the seaside and taking in the sea air. Buy traditional sweets in the Co-op shop, play Victorian seaside games and print your own cards on the 1857 Colombian Printing Press. Open from 10am till 4pm (last admission 3:45pm). Adult: £2.50 Child: £1.00 Family Ticket: £5.00

Come and meet wild and exotic animals with Zeus & Buddies Animal Encounters at Pennells Lincoln on Thursday the 23rd August from 11am - 3pm.

Join Bransby Horses for Face Painting and Glitter Tattoos at the Visitor Centre on Friday 24 August from 10.30am-2pm. £3 per person.                           


National RAF Air Cadet Choir Concert

Come and watch the National Choir of the Royal Air Force Air Cadets from their home at RAF Cranwell on Saturday 25 August at 7:30pm as they take you through the ages of popular music in their August concert. In the 100th Year of the Royal Air Force, the choir from all over the UK has come together with their amazing talent to raise money for worthwhile causes and guarantee to have you clapping and singing along with them and letting the music take you! Adult £7 and Child under 16 £5.                                           


FREE Family Fun Day

Join Cranwell Aviation Heritage Museum on Sunday 26 August for a day of family fun! Cranwell Aviation Heritage Museum will be flying high with lots of fun activities on Sunday 26 August from 11am to 4pm. Explore vintage fire engines or have a go at some children’s activities including face painting or kite making! This event is FREE for the whole family to enjoy! The museum will also be open with its flight simulator and lots of interactive activities for all ages. Please note children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Whilst you’re there stop by their current exhibition Gallantry in the Air, a special exhibition commemorating the centenary of the Royal Air Force. Discover some of the stories of gallantry involving RAF aircrew in World War Two. Many of the airmen featured in this exhibition gained the highest award for their valour with some of them paying the ultimate price. Twinlakes Free Party Weekend Music Festival!

Celebrate the 15th Anniversary at Twinlakes Free Weekend Music Festival! If you purchase a TWINLAKES DAY TICKET or have a TWINLAKES ANNUAL PASS then come and party with them at their FREE Weekend Music Festival this Saturday 25 & Sunday 26 August, featuring a stellar selection of amazing tribute artists covering some of your favourite music and to top it off we have the awesome singing sensation Kade Smith from this years ‘the voice’. Also joining is the Leicester City Community Trust Team doing football Skills Sessions. You will also be able to meet Filbert Fox and a chance to have your photo taken with him. Gem will be there throughout the weekend with the Gem story, chill and games area. The Gem street and promo team will be out and about making sure you are all having a fab time. Don’t forget to check out the Gem glitter stations! Park open for rides, attractions, farm and water park 10am – 5.30pm, with music festival running into the evening. Tickets include everything! Special guest, face painting, unicorn rides, party games, glitter stations, freebies and much more!


The County Show: A Performative Experience & Pauper Pickings at The Workhouse!

The County Show re-enacts a typical rural show of 1918 with music and activities for children that would have taken place in Southwell 100 years ago taking place on Saturday 25, Sunday 26 & Monday 27 August. Entertainment includes a costume character talk linked to the South Essex College of Further and Higher Education costume exhibition; a musical performance ‘Letters Home’ (inspired by a soldier's letters from the trenches of WW1) by brass ensemble Essentially Brass and 4 heroes from The Hero Project CIC. There will be children's games, costumed paupers and historic characters from 1918 Southwell for you to meet. We will also be joined by The Flower Pod for garland making-(garland making, Saturday only). Sat & Sun opens 12pm-4pm and Mon opens 11am-4pm. Also on Saturday 25 August why not pick vegetables with the paupers in the garden. These events are free but normal admission charges apply for the venue.
