10 Things to do this Half Term
The Big Draw Festival
The Big Draw Festival, an annual month-long festival of drawing, is making its way to Lincoln Cathedral, providing locals with the opportunity to participate in the worldwide celebration of drawing. Members of the public of all ages are encouraged to come along to the exciting national event at Lincoln Cathedral on Saturday 20 October from 10.30am – 1.30pm, where they can join in on the fun, free of charge. Taking inspiration from the glorious stained-glass windows, participants will have the opportunity to help create a giant piece of art on the floor of the Nave with artist Kirsty Dring. In addition to The Big Draw, the Cathedral is also hosting two ‘monster’ story time sessions this October half-term in the Longland Chantry. Families are encouraged to come along to listen to the stories, including a child-friendly Frankenstein story, followed by a trail of the Cathedral and simple craft activity. The interactive sessions will take place on 23 and 25 October from 11am – 11.45am and 1pm– 1.45pm each day. Story time sessions are free for children under five and one accompanying adult.
